Spending the evening with the canine and the best friend. Normal day with a cherry on top. Sitting on either side of the sofa we are currently entertained by a sketch book and D.H. Lawrence's classic Lady Chatterley's Lover. Fairly hardcore. Just like our lives.

Be My Valentine

Well I have just had the most romantic start to Valentine's day ever. Across from our flat, there's a man who has been glued to his computer all evening. When I randomly looked over, I noticed him standing up looking a bit... strange. Then I realised he was... taking care of himself. So romantic. The saddest part is that seeing that, is probably the closest I will get to any action on this 14th of February.

I am not a big fan of Valentine's day. Actually, I loathe it. I don't mind dedicating a day to the magnificence of eros, but that isn't what Valentine's day is. It is all about the card from Hallmark, bouquet of red roses and box of chocolate. This is a nice thought if it wasn't forced on you in such a manner. 

Honestly, women deserve flowers and chocolate every day. It is also a well known fact that we prefer romantic gestures to be original, our partner did it because they wanted to, not because society tells you to.

Obviously, I am extremely single at the moment, haha. That is however, insignificant, in a relationship or not, as a female I can make an educated guess regarding what we actually want for Valentine's.

Forced romance is not romantic.

Personally, I would rather have a completely random present on a completely random day if it meant my boyfriend had put some thought into it. Not saying you can't on Valentine's, it just seems a bit forced. So relax. Just think of it as a normal day with a little cherry on top.

How come my life looks so much prettier in photos? Perhaps we need to simply enjoy our surroundings a bit more.

XK 120

I would actually commit murder for this beaut vehicle. 

It's the Jaguar XK 120. I swear, one day... I think I have to have one of these beautiful veteran cars (fighting the urge to call them vintage) when I finally get the hang of this driving thing. To be honest, I am more keen on getting a Ducati at the moment. A white Ducati came up next to me the other day, and I thought a white Ducati would be the tackiest thing ever. But it wasn't. It was amazingly cool, actually. That said, we all know I'm all about the black. A black Ducati for my 20th would be groovy.

Speak Up, Save A Life

I have written about domestic violence before. If you know me personally, you will know that this is a cause very close to my heart - for all the wrong reasons. It broke my heart when Blogger informed me that at least one person that day had googled "domestic violence" and ended up reading this post.

These women were killed by their current or ex-partners. Red Magazine recently launched their campaign with domestic violence charity Refuge. If they can get 100 000 signatures, they can take their debate to the House of Commons. The aim is to ask that every police force in the UK works alongside an independent domestic violence advocate in its work to prevent domestic violence.

Please take a minute to click on the picture, and sign the petition. 1 in 4 women in the United Kingdom will experience domestic abuse. That is a scary number. Sign the petition, and think of the life you might be saving. Your own, your sister's, your best friend's, your mother's, your daughter's...

Apparently, someone just found these photos of miss Monroe... If I had a bunch of unpublished photos of Marilyn in my drawer, I would NOT wait 50 years. But that's just me.

Do you remember the good old days when MTV actually aired music videos? Oh, those were glorious times... I never see any music videos anymore. I never listen to the radio, so I never discover "new" music, and never get to see any cool music videos anymore.

So I thought I'd look up some of the music videos I actually think are pretty fancy, and take a little walk on the wild side down memory lane...

So it might not be a music video in the traditional sense of the word, but it is a video... with music... And how bloody awesome is he? Imagine some bourgeois American family at home in a suburb turning on the television and this is what they see... I love him and from time to time I pretend I am one of his 75 children.

привет! как дела? Unbelievable how much Russian I have forgotten in two months. And I didn't know that much to begin with... Starting tomorrow, Russian and I are back on. At the moment I am just pretending to study, while I watch my future husband James McAvoy and the awesomeness that is Bill Nighy in State of Play. The original series, not the US remake.
